Class Division: Conservatory Division

General Information

Level 4 marks the exciting introduction of pointe work for female students, representing a significant milestone in their ballet training. Dancers at this level are expected to demonstrate commitment and consistency, attending either three or five ballet classes per week to support their continued growth. The syllabus expands to include more complex steps and longer, more demanding combinations, requiring heightened focus, strength, and stamina. Emphasis is placed on safe pointe technique, proper alignment, and sustained control as students advance both technically and artistically. Dancers will be promoted to the next level when they demonstrate readiness and the required ability.

Uniforms

All uniforms for Princeton Ballet School students can be ordered from Arena Dance. Additional items such as t-shirts, jackets and cover-ups can be purchased as well. Uniforms can either be tried on and picked up in-person, or can be shipped directly to your home. Items that are in stock will take 3-5 days to arrive, items that are out of stock and custom items will take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

At this stage, dancers work on executing longer and more complex combinations with increased accuracy, control, and artistry. The curriculum exposes students to a more demanding technical vocabulary while continuing to reinforce and strengthen the foundational principles of pointe work. A strong commitment is expected, with students attending either three or five ballet classes per week to support their ongoing development. Dancers will be promoted to the next level when they demonstrate readiness and the required ability.

At this stage, dancers are required to demonstrate a high level of commitment, focus, and discipline in every class. The curriculum is designed to extensively expand technical vocabulary, introduce more complex combinations, and refine artistry and performance quality. Students work toward mastering advanced skills while preparing for the highest levels of classical technique. A strong commitment is expected, with students attending between three or five ballet classes per week to support their ongoing development. Dancers will be promoted to the next level when they demonstrate readiness and the required ability.

Dancers are expected to demonstrate exceptional commitment, focus, and discipline, maintaining a high standard of work in every aspect of their training. Emphasis is placed on refining advanced technique, mastering complex combinations, and sustaining strength, control, and artistry. A strong commitment is expected, with students attending between three or five ballet classes per week to support their ongoing development. Dancers will be promoted to the next level when they demonstrate readiness and the required ability.

Level 8 represents the culminating stage of the youth training program, where dancers consolidate their technical foundation while further developing artistry and performance quality. At this level, students are expected to demonstrate maturity, consistency, and a strong sense of individual expression. Training emphasizes refinement of advanced technique, versatility, and the ability to perform with confidence and professionalism. Upon completion, students are prepared to enter a Trainee program or pursue higher education in dance, depending on their chosen path. A high level of commitment is required, with dancers attending a minimum of five ballet classes per week.
