Choreographer | Claire Davison

Da’Von Doane is a former leading dance artist with Dance Theatre of Harlem. He was featured as one of ‘Dance Magazine Top 25 to Watch’ in 2014, and in a Dance Web Series ‘For the Love of Dance’ with Sarita Lou. In 2017 he was featured in Dance Magazine as a standout performer in Robert Garland’s Brahms Variations and as a cover star in 2019. Doane is originally from Salisbury, Maryland, where he began his dance training at the Salisbury Dance Academy under the direction of Betty Webster, Tatiana Akinfieva-Smith and Elena Manakhova. At age 15, he began training at the Atlantic Contemporary Ballet Theatre as a full-time academic student and remained there for four years. In 2012, Doane joined the newly reborn Dance Theatre of Harlem, was seen in Principal roles in Black Swan pas de deux staged by Anne Marie Holms, Raymonda Act III pas de deux, Dancing on The Front Porch of Heaven by Ulysses Dove, Balanchine’s Agon, Tchaikovsky pas de deux, Glinka pas de trois, and Valse Fantasie to name a few. As an independent artist, he has performed with numerous companies and worked with choreographers and festivals such as Ballet Noir, Classical Contemporary Ballet Theatre, Ballet Verite, Ballet Chesapeake, Fire Island Dance Festival, Ballet Boy Productions, among others. At present, Doane is pursuing his MFA in Dance at the University of the Arts where he hopes to build the foundations for his work as a choreographer and educator.

Steve Reich has been called “the most original musical thinker of our time” (The New Yorker) and “among the great composers of the century” (The New York Times). Starting in the 1960s, his pieces It’s Gonna RainDrummingMusic for 18 MusiciansTehillimDifferent Trains, and many others helped shift the aesthetic center of musical composition worldwide away from extreme complexity and towards rethinking pulsation and tonal attraction in new ways. He continues to influence younger generations of composers and mainstream musicians and artists all over the world.

Costume and Scenic Design | Grace Lynne Haynes

Grace Lynne Haynes is a California-born visual artist currently based in New Jersey. She creates lusciously composed paintings containing bright textures and patterns. Intricate moments are juxtaposed against flat, black swaths of paint shaped to represent black female bodies. The artist’s painterly devices lead the viewer to question the very nature of color and how historically
symbolic meanings surrounding colors and shades, especially black,
are constructed. In Haynes’s work, black appears aspirational, dignified, and sublime. The result is a network of images addressing complex topics
and stereotypes surrounding black femininity. An inaugural member of Kehinde
Wiley’s Black Rock Senegal residency, Haynes is included in the 2020 edition
of Forbes 30 Under 30 in Art & Style. Haynes has exhibited at the Dakar Biennale, Ontario Museum of History and Art, Paul Robeson Gallery of Rutgers University, Newark, Luce gallery in Italy, and several esteemed art fairs across the country. She was a selected artist in Daily Collector’s online article “20 Painter’s Who Are Shaping the Next Decade”, and her work has been published on the cover of The New Yorker, and in LA Weekly, Whitewall Magazine, New American Paintings, CNN Art and Style, Vogue, and Culture Type.

Lighting Design | Jason Flamos

Jason Flamos (Lighting Designer) Credits include: (Mile Square Theatre) Pipeline, I and You, It’s a Wonderful Life, The 39 Steps, Betrayal; (Shakespeare Theater NJ) William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play; (10 Hairy Legs) Heist, Cruise Control, Brian, Quadrivium; (Thingamajig Theatre Company) The Pillowman, Cabaret, The Little Mermaid, A Few Good Men. Flamos was the Associate Lighting Design for the Off-Broadway productions of Clever Little Lies and The Other Josh Cohen at Westside Theater, F***ing A at Signature Theater, The Producers and Benny and Joon at Paper Mill Playhouse, and Rags at Goodspeed Opera. He was the lighting supervisor for 10 Hairy Legs and is the current lighting supervisor at American Repertory Ballet.
